Who shot J. Arday? His tragic death (assumed to be suicide, but it’s possible that his pants were on fire) has provoked a typically level headed response from the left.

They’re screaming about a “public assassination”, an “indirect lynching”, and they’re sharing “kill lists” of the right-wing journalists they blame for his death. BLM is back, and their hero is George Fraud.

But it was the left-wing press who laid some of the biggest blows on Jason Arday, such as The Guardian which according to leftists “ignored warnings and published 19 articles about Arday in the 22 days before his death”

I mean, 19 articles in 22 days is pretty good. It’s not as good as 30 marathons in 35 days, but I suppose The Guardian wasn’t doing it to raise £7m for charity.

Leftists then hounded Guardian journalists, until someone pointed out that some of them are black. This led to a beautiful moment where Jolyon Maugham backtracked and said the black journalists are wonderful and we need more of them.

And it led to bizarre Maoist struggle sessions where left-wing journalists tearfully atoned for actually doing some proper journalism, and promised to go back to pumping out socialist propaganda.

”Abolish the police!” has become “Abolish the press”!”

Zara Sultanabran said “If Jason Arday were a white middle-class academic, he would not have been hounded by the British press in the way he was.”

Which is true because if Jason Arday had been white, he’d never have made it to the heady heights of academia. He’d be working in a warehouse somewhere, or propping up a bar, telling people about the time he defeated Rocky Balboa to take the world heavyweight title. His bollocks talking would never have become an issue. He’d just have a nickname like Bobby Bollocks instead of being called a professor.

And there are plenty of examples of white academics being hounded. Criminology professor Mike Adams sent some spicy tweets, was hounded by the mob, subsequently forced into an early retirement, then killed himself. Instead of apologising, the press repeated claims that he was “racist” and “sexist”.

Toronto school principal Richard Bilkszto attended compulsory anti-racism training in 2021. During the training, he pushed back on a claim made by the trainer that Canada is more racist than the United States. The trainer subsequently used his objection as an example of “white resistance” and implied that he was a “white supremacist”. His career was destroyed and he killed himself.

The mob is now focusing on Nathan Cofnas, the academic who played a key role in exposing Jason Arday.

Jason Arday’s tragic fall wasn’t the fault of right-wing journalists who exposed the lies. It was Cambridge, the BBC, and the left-wing establishment’s fault for allowing the lies to go unchallenged and allowing Jason to rise to such an untenable position, a terrible height from which to fall.

The mythologising of Jason paints as some kind of wide-eyed ingenue, an innocent who had no weapons to defend himself, a baby deer of a man (although also somehow also an incredibly intelligent, world-class academic).

But Jason Arday wasn’t like this. He savagely attacked his critics. When Times Higher Education investigated his claims of plagiarism against him, Jason squashed the story by deploying top defamation lawyers Carter Ruck. The journalist who emailed him with questions, Jack Grove, was reported to the police for racially aggravated harassment. He threw damaging accusations of racism at anyone who crossed him.

And I can’t believe that Jason couldn’t see the road to redemption. His book was going to sell by the cartload. His academic career might be toast, but he’d be a modern-day Frank Abagnale, the man who tricked the DEI panjandrums before falling back to earth. Most of us respected him much more as a real blagger than as a fake academic.

Sadly, Jason needed the false respect of academics and leftists more than that.
